Electrotherm presents latest range sparkless steel frame furnace in innovative design insulated with special thermal insulation and sufficient inter-turn gaping. The steel frame furnaces are specially made for sponge iron plant and dusty atmosphere. Some of the salient features of this steel frame furnace include optimum inter-turn spacing maintained by frp post between the turns; top and bottom stainless steel/copper cooling coils maintain uniform temperature gradient throughout the refractory to prevent over heating and enhance refractory life; thick faraday shield prevents stray losses and directs energy in the change; specially designed curved magnetic shunts [yokes] cover around 80% of coil periphery to minimise stray loss and improve efficiency besides providing rigidity to coil cradle assembly. These sparkless steel frame furnaces comprise of a bottom ring with bottom refractory blocks made out of refractory cement and high alumina blocks to give longer life than bottom made out of only castable material. Top ring of the furnaces are available as top refractory blocks made out of sintered castable refractory with stainless steel fibre for reinforcement and bolted with top ring for easy dismantling of top block without breaking. These steel frame furnaces are available with blocks that can be replaced in parts. Sparkless steel frame furnaces are available with hydraulically operated swivel type furnace lids option to reduce radiation losses improving the melting and holding efficiency and reduce power consumption.
